Practice Makes Perfect (Reserved- Gabriel and Adamaris)

Adamaris came to the center of a meadow, she was terribly lost; all she wanted to do was practice. She felt the summer heat beating down on her. Shaking her head; she unsheathed the sword on her back; here was good a place to practice as any. Pulling the large sword in front of her, she swung it around her head, letting it lasso around; and then she took it and spun it in a circle around her; cleaving any tall grace around her. Watching it fall; decided to practice other styles. Taking her sword; she pretended it was knocked out of her hands; and sent it whirling into the air; it fell and she saw someone's shadow on the gleam of the blade. Crouching, she held the blade in her hands, she gulped down a breath of air as she saw who it was. She rose, sheathing the sword.

"Hi Gabriel,"

Gabe was still getting used to the area where he lived and decided to check out a nearby island. He found himself wandering aimlessly through the medow thinking about how bored he was. There was nothing to do here for him, not even a bar, but Mineral Town didn't have one too--yet Forget-Me-Not Valley was close enough. He continued to walk around with a cigarrette in his mouth--he knew it was bad for him, but he didn't really care.

As he walked along he hear a slashing noise and the next thing he knew he was facing Adamaris her sword pointing at him. "Do you mind? I happen to like living," he said. When she pulled back her blade he sighed with relief. "Good day, Adamaris. What in the world are you doing with a sword out here?"

"I'm training- I love the sword," she says; toying with the strap that goes across her torso to hold the sheath, which holds the sword, on her back. "What brings you out here?" Her eyes flickering at his cigarette in his mouth, and then at him, her now like a rabbit's; fearful and jumpy. "Why do you smoke? It's destroying your lungs," Adamaris spoke in a caring tone; she didn't want anyone else getting hurt; and that fire on the end of it; oh that was freaking her out.

A sharp sword and a quiet girl were not a normal combination. It was like a lamb with the teeth of a lion in a sense. By the sounds of it the girl loved practicing with the sword, which only piqued his interest more. The girl then must have noticed the cigarrette that was in his mouth and the small trail of smoke it made. "I know, I'm a doctor--I know what I'm doing," he said and then began to tease her. "What do you like me, so you're concered for me?" he chuckled.

Adamaris blushed slightly. "Your lungs are going to disintegrate, and it's only a matter of time before that little fire burns down this entire meadow..." Adamaris trails off, and plops down in the grass, she had given a hint away about her past accidentally. "Why do you smoke?" she asks, trying to pick up a bit of conversation; she didn't really understand why people smoked at all, it hurt them and all the others around them.

"Not disintergrate, you mean tar is going to build up cause the white blood cells in my lungs won't beable to clear it fast enough and I will suffer from dynspea," he corrected. He knew what was going on in him, but why was this girl so concern. Especially with the subject of fire by the sounds of it too. He didn't even drop the cigarrette to the ground and yet she was worried about it, even though most people stomped them out and the ember shurely wasn't large enough to create a flame here. "Can you go diving without an oxygen mask?" he asked her smiling slyly.

Adamaris blinks slowly, taking in whatever he just said. "I can't swim, remember?" she laughs. "Shame really, especially when your name means Lord of the Sea," Adamaris turns to Gabriel; and unsheathes the sword. In a rapid movement, she would chop the butt of the cigarette and stomp it as soon as if fell to the ground. She puts on a melancholic voice. "Second hand smoke is just as bad, or worse than smoking it yourself. Someone else can develop a disease that degenerates their muscles and leaves them in pain all the time. I believe it's Fiber Mialga," Adamaris sheathes her sword and smiles.

"You don't get the point do you," Gabe replied. "This is my version of an oxygen mask."

She cut his cigarrette--one of the dumbest things to do to him of all people. "I was using that," he said starting to get annoyed by the girl's actions. "You mean Fibromyalgia, which is studied to be caused by stress," Gabriel said even more annoyed. If someone was going to talk to him about medicine they should do it right. "It's a nervous system problem--which has been hypothosized to be caused by the nervratic reseptors of nicatine. If you are going to talk about medicine with me do so correctly."

Adamaris merely blinked; and fell down on a nearby log and looked at the man in front of her. Why did she make everyone angry? It's like her alter ego popped in and out at the wrong time. She continued looking at Gabriel, her dark brown eyes were swelling and she looked like she was about to cry. She went to say something. "I-I'm s-s-s-s-" Adamaris burst into tears, while her alter ego fought, trying to make it's way back out.

The next thing he new the girl was bursting out in tears like the first time they met and was trying to apologize. Why did these sort of things always happen to him? He must have been too harsh towards the girl or something else set her off. He immediatly rushed towards the girl and knelt down to her level and held onto her sholders. "Don't cry," he said trying to think of her to stop. "I may have been a bit harsh--but," he stopped himself before pointing fingers ant the girl--it'd probably make her even more upset.

Adamaris continued crying, she seemed to be something like a rose, graceful petals and dangerous thorns. The dainty little petal part of her kept weeping, while her trapped thorns wanted to break out and tear Gabriel into pieces. It was a sister system, hurt Adamaris, out comes the sister. However, Adamaris controlled her flipped personality this time. "It's o-o-k-kay," she breathes, hiding her face amid her hair and lap.

For a second Gabe swore the girl had a split personalitly or something. She before was calm and shy, but then for a split second she seemed to change completely. It may have been a nerological disorder or just that she had enough of his smoking. "Got it," he sighed standing up and then offering the girl a hand up. She clearly was a pain for him and he should probably stop smoking around her for awhile, even though he wanted to grab a cigarette from his pant pocket. "I'll stop smoking for now then, if you're going to get all worked up okay?"

"I'm not getting worked up," she says; taking his hand as she was pulled up; her head still drooped with her long hair covering her. Pulling her hair back, she looks at Gabriel. "I just- Can't let anyone else get hurt," Adamaris' eyes drooped to the spot where she cut off the flaming cigarette butt, it was still there; embers and tobacco crushed into a pulpy mess. She looks at Gabriel. "You can smoke- It's just I get worked up when people hurt themselves like that,"

The girl said she wasn't getting worked up, but it seemed like it otherwise. He long black hair covered most of her face and she looked depressed. Adamaris was clearly troubled--they had just met and she was concerned for his health. Things began to make more sense when she said she couldn't stand people hurting themselves. "Is it really hurting me if it makes me happy?" he asked as he perked up an eyebrow. People die--that's a fact. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when and he was okay with that. "Look, I don't want you to be upset--so I'll keep the smoking to a minimum around you. It doesn't mean that I'll stop though."

Adamaris blinks; color gaining in her face again. She felt tired. Light-headed. Like she'd just been beat up; like that time in high school. "Okay..." she says, feeling emotionally troubled. She sat down; this man was a doctor right? "Hey... This a bit weird; but I feel like I had two distinct personalities... Like, there's me- And then there's the opposite me. The opposite me breaks out sometimes, I have little control over it, I can't do anything about it, am I bipolar or schizophrenic or what am I?"

Something changed in the way Adamaris was speaking. Like she was troubled, but by something bigger. Then he heard it, 'I feel like I had two distinct personalities.' Was his suspicion from earlier really true? This wasn't good, dual personalities could really mess up a person. They probably conflicted in the girl's head constantly causing a large headache. From what he understood they'd conflict untill one was dormant within the subconscience. She need a psychologist specialist now, but there probably wasn't here. He was a diagnostician and a pediatrician worked for him. "Dual personalities, huh?" he said aloud scratching his chin. "How long ago did you notice this happening to you?"

"Ever since that happened," Adamaris said. "It's been a few years. Get major migraines sometimes, simple over the counter pills didn't help at all, it felt like I was dying," Adamaris says, remembering her parents burning and her escaping and trying to get away; too frightened to know what to do, it was all her fault... That stupid match! Adamaris' held her head in her hand; she could fill the pain starting to make it's way forward.

Gabriel would need to know what she was talking about. It was probably some catostraphic event in her life, something that triggered the other personality. With this kind of condition over the counter pills wouldn't help the poor girl at all, she must have been too scared to tell anyone. She thinks of others first and fails to think of the consequences of her hurting herself. Something changed in Adamaris's expression, like she was experiencing a headache right now. "Are you having an attack right now?" he asked alarmed. She could need codine or something simmalar to stop the pain, and unfortunatly he didn't have any right now to admisister to her.

"N-no, I'm fine, don't trouble yourself," Adamaris answers through gritted teeth, doing her best to remain calm, and convince herself this pain was real. Adamaris' leg began twitching to the point it was moving on it's on; she managed to sit down, and took a few deep breaths. "It's nothing, really," she says, removing her hand which was now twitching. She forces a smile; until her whole body was shaking. "Okay.. I'm having an-attacking," she says painfully.

It was obvious the girl was hidding her symptoms from him. First he noticed her leg shaking, then her arms, eventually it spread to her whole body. She gritted her teeth together in attempt to control herself. Why did these sort of things always happen when he wasn't working? Adamaris was in pain, no doubt about it. If Gabriel could calm her down the pain might go away long enough for them to get to his office so he could get her a medication. He would have to think quickly though and he did. Quickly he hugged her and rubbed her back in a calming motion in attempt to calm her down. "Shh..." he whispered gently. "Don't think of anything and relax, everything is going to be okay."

Adamaris did her best to have her mind go blank. But she couldn't. "It's not w-working!" she shouts painfully. Fire flashed through her mind, her parent's screams, the aftermath, how she just fled without a word. She was there all over again, and just seemed to babble out nonsense. "Run, run, escape, you've got to live," is all she murmured, shivering horribly now, the split personality was about to break through....

"Adamaris!" Gabriel said holding her tighter and closer to him. He could feel her heart racing--this panic attack was bad. She was starting to hallucinate now, screaming about having to live. Someone close to her might have died and she was re-living the incident. He had to get her to return to normal or she might hurt him or herself. "Adamaris! Everything is fine, no one is going to get hurt! Hold yourself together--I'm here for you! You don't need to go through this alone, you are fine! Calm down before you hurt yourself!"

"No! You'll die too!" Adamaris cries loudly, her head throbbing now, she couldn't let her alter ego out, she almost kill that one man. Not now, not now.... Adamaris let out one final scream, and everything grew bright and fuzzy; and Adamaris fell unconscious, her head fell down onto Gabriel's shoulder; her long brown hair swaying in the breeze. She seemed so peaceful; apart from the fact she had a huge sword on her back. Adamaris' heart began to slow down; and the heat produce by her body seemed to slow down- It was like she was walking chaos.

After another scream Adamaris collapsed onto him. Her petite frame leaned against his body, so peaceful unlike what she was experiencing a moment ago. The attack was too much for her small body and took so much energy out of her but the looks of it. At least her heart rate now returned to normal and she stopped shaking. For her to have a seizure like that ment something was really messing up her brain. There was nothing he could do for the girl here, so he lifted up the girl and headed to his office--where he might be able to help the girl.
