Sand, Sun, and Bare Feet [Blk Heart - Ashton and Riley]

If she had long hair it'd be blown in the gentle breeze. Riley could always wear a wig if she really wanted to, but she didn't really think about that today. Never would she grow her hair long, she preffered it short because it made her look older than she was. Sometimes she couldn't help but feel like wearing one for certain occasions. Oddly though, she felt like she wanted to wear one for no reason at all.

Taking off her heels, for it is nearly immpossible to walk with them in the sand, Riley wingled her pedicured toes in the sand. It was fall, but the weather wasn't too terriable to her. Where she came from it was a lot colder and she still wore cute shoes when the ground was covered with a blanket of snow. That's just a taste of the determination she had for looking cute. Now looking great was the only thing she had for she no longer had access to her inheritance.

She carried her heels with one hand as she walked alond the beach and they lightly swayed as she walked around aimlessly.

There was a sudden splash into the water and in hopes to see something amazing Riley turned her head. For all she knew it could have been a dolphine or something. To her disapointment it was just a young guy who noticed her and then started to rant on how he wasn't littering. On a normal day she would have thought of him as a hindrence, but she was very bored. No one had come to her new store yet, so she had nothing to do. For this reason she would engage in this denouncing conversation.

"Okay," she said shrugging not really caring what he did. The young woman didn't see the action, so why should she really care about it? It'd be only waste her time, but now that she thought about it she had a lot of time to waste. "No need to have a cow."

At first she couldn't help but see how weird it was that she was talking with this guy. His hair was longer to her own, which she found strange. Most of the time the men she knew had hair the same lenght if not shorter than her own. It was just weird.

For a guy Riley thought he wasn't that masculine due to his embarrased behavior. A guy to her was someone that wouldn't try to hide what they did, but admit it with pride. Besides what he did wasn't anything to be ashamed or embarrased about. Riley guessed that he had thrown a bottle in the ocean with a message. That was certainly a horrible way to send a message. There was no way it'd get to its intended reader, but at least it was an attempt. Ashton probably had no clue how to contact that person the message was for.

"Riley Berkley," announced Riley trying to sound as if she still had her inheritance money. No one would be able to tell if she acted the part or looked the part. Her outfit today certainly sent that message in her thoughts. Slim skinny jeans clung close to her curves. An oversized white top with a golden sparkles here and there was covered by a stylish black blazer. Her heels would have been on her feel if she hadn't taken them off earlier. They were golden and sandal-like. All else that there was on her was a thing gold bracelett on her left wrist. "It's a pleasure to meet you as well."

Nothing really stood out about Ashton to Riley. He was young and pretty normal, so it was hard to find him interesting. Her life was filled with interesting things when she lived back at home, but now she guessed that she'd have to learn to live without luxuries. At least the scenery wasn't too bad here. If the place wasn't too bad she guessed she'd build a summer home here once she got her money back. That is if her father would give it to her that is. Part of her doubted that since he loved it so much more compared to her.

"Yeah," she said with a drip of elegance to her words. One of the nicest things about growing up in a rich house hold was that you sounded more elegant to people. It was easy to tell that she talked differently compared to Ashton. It was probably that way for most people. "Just moved here, and you?"

[Crap, I'm going on a late streak... Sorry. It never said there was a new post, as well as I got SUPER busy... Since march Break is here now, I'm free from business! 8D ... Hopefully...]

Ashton was right, she was new. Well at least he wasn't slipping up, now. That was his conclusion.

Either way, Riley had said it ever so elegant.

"Well this is a very nice town and I hope it will be suitable for you." Ashton said, trying to be more mature. Mineral Town was nice. Tranquil, peacefull, simply nice. "And I actually don't live here." Ashton admited. "I live in a town close to here. I just like visiting." he said, smiling.

"If you need help finding your way somewhere though, I'd be willing to help." he offered. Ashton always had a sense of direction, no matter where he was. It was like he had been everywhere at one point of his life.

The boy didn't impress Riley too much, he didn't look like anything special to her. His hair was black and long for his gender, maybe even longer than her own hair. Light purplish eyes looked back into her own brown. Young, without a doubt he was younger than her--it was as plain as day. He still had the face of a child to her, looked in his early teens. To him, she probably seemed a whole lot older. She was only eighteen, but her make-up naturally made her look older than she was.

Ashton may have not attracted her attention with his looks, but his manners did. Running her fingers smoothly through her silky short hair as she listened to him talk about how nice he thought the town was. She nodded agreeing with him, but she did not really agree. To her this place was nothing but a dump that her father cast her in. The closest mall was nowhere and she doubted that the spring was even like a spa. She would be pampering herself, which everyone knew was nothing like being pampered.

"I might take you up on that offer," she noted smiling gently. It wouldn't be such a bad idea to get used to where she lived. For all she knew she could be here for years.

Ashton was thinking of something that worried Riley a bit. He was connecting the dots, one by one. A gut instinct warned her that the dreaded question would be comming soon. Before she didn't bother to think of an excuse, but she was going to need one. Without a doubt she'd lie to him. A good lie and not one that could be easily doubted. Maybe she'd say that it was tradition to leave the family fortune for a year or two. It wouldn't take her that long to get out of here. Yeah, setting up a buisness in order to understand the family buisness so it runs nicely. It seemed outlandish and complicated, yet she had a feeling it'd work. To the boy she was a rich girl, something completely uncomprehendable.

To her relief he didn't ask the question, but instead told her whenever was fine to show her around with a sweet smile. If she didn't know better she'd assume he was flirting with her. The age difference was too big for her to see any meaning in it though. Ashton was probably at the very guillible age as well. "What about tommorow?" she asked seriously taking up his offer. "The sooner the better as the saying goes."

Riley ended up being startled by Ashton's question even though she knew it was comming. Not faltering she composed herself and said, "When an heir to the Berkley fortune turns eighteen they must go away for a few years starting their own buisness. That way they can understand how to run the company when they inherit it." She loved her lie. It was unique and it make her presence here seem right. A beautiful wonderful lie.
