Not again...

Kyle stared at the table. For hours he was waiting for the man who ate here to come back to pay because he said he left his wallet and will be back. How foolish of me Kyle though. I wonder why I bother trusting anyone. Kyle started cleaning the tables.

Soon after he finished he sat down to read a book behind the counter waiting for someone to arrive so he can serve. I will not trust anyone...

*amy walks in with a blank look on her face* "oh hey kyle." (She's using a monotone voice BTW)

Arden walked in, with a rather confused look on her face. She had left Sydney with a sitter, but her feelings about the little girl were very mixed. Not that her cousin was a bad kid; far from it. It was just that Arden was getting so attached that, when the time came, she didn't know if she would be able to let the little girl go. That would be hard.

Immersed in thought, she wasn't watching where she was going, and ran into the counter. "Ouch!" she cried, rubbing a now-bruised area on her thigh. Her cheeks turned pink, not from pain, but from embarrasment.

Startled, Kyle shot a cold glare at the girl with the bruised knee.
"Watch it" kyle whispered, the words barely past his lips. He would'nt be suprised if she didn't hear him. Slyly Kyle pulled out some ointment and passed it to the bruised girl and stared at her.
"Use it so your bruise will heal faster." Then quickly looked down to read his book

*turns around angrily and thinks to self* "i'm tired of being invisible to everyone it's not fair!"

Arden startled. "I'm sorry," she said, blinking. "I'm a klutz." Her cheeks turned even redder, and, against her will, tears welled up in her eyes. She blinked them away and stood up. She took the ointment from him and flashed a quick grin. "Thank you..." she said shyly, before limping over to a nearby table and sitting down delicately in a chair.

*thinks to self* "dramam queen." *goes over to corner and sits down* "why do i have to live anymore,i hate it, i hate being immortal."

Kyle noticed someone else. It was Amy.
"Hello... Amy" In his usual quiet voice. Kyle stood up, took a menu and headed over to the girl.
"Menu?" He asked.
He looked back and Amy and said
"Would you like anything?"

"can you get me some water please, kyle?" *puts hand to head*

Kyle quickly poured some water into a glass and served it to Amy.
"Anything else?"

Arden took a breath and snuck another look at the black-haired boy. She caught his eye, hesitated, and then looked back down at her menu quickly. "I'm so awkward..." she thought to herself, hating that about her.

"unless you have some asprin,no that's fine." *takes a sip of water* "I'm just not feeling my best."

"Sorry, we don't have anything like that here" He whispered.
Kyle continued to stare at the girl then finally walked over to her.
"Would you like anything?"

*smiles at him and takes a sip of water* "that's okay." *thinks* "having you as a friend is good enough"

Arden looked up. "I think I've made enough of a nuisance out of myself for today," she laughed awkwardly, wincing inwardly. "Uh. Maybe just a water? Or a piece of cake?" she said, smiling.

"arden are you tring to sweet up to him or something?"

"Um. No? I was just ordering," Arden said, frowning. "When did ordering a piece of cake become 'sweetening up'? Well, other than the sugar," she grinned. "Sorry. Bad joke."

"You said you were a nuisance to him, that's a form of sweeting up." *grins*

"Oh. I wasn't aware that being a nuisance was attractive," Arden grinned. "I thought it made me look clumsy." She was fully aware that the guy was standing right there; but she had already embarassed herself, so what was the point of being cowardly now?

Kyle's lips twitched a bit. He went into the kitchen and brought a big slice of cake and cold water back to the girl.
"The cake will be on the house I guess"
Kyle looked away and stared off into space.

"you okay kyle?"

"Really? Wow. That's really nice of you," Arden said, taking the plate of cake in her hands. "Thanks, uh..." she realized that she didn't know the guy's name, and he wasn't wearing a name tag.

Kyle just stared, until the girl spoke. All this time he has been calling her girl in his mind. She was the first that didn't right off give her name like other girls he met. Kyle caught her looking for his name tag. Oh right. Name tags. Kyle though. He rushed over to the counter and pinned his name tag onto his shirt and didn't notice that it was upside down.

"Elyk?" Arden read, grinning. She looked at his face, noticed the confusion, and pointed at his name tag. "Your name tag is upside down," she explained.

Kyle's eyes widened for a split second as he fumbled correcting the name tag back on the right way.
