Blinded by blood.

Molly slept on the couch breathing heavy while in a bad dream. She jerked ehr body up as she woke noticing she could not see anything. She thought maybe her eyes were closed so she wnt to rub them and got her eyes. "OW!" she yelled. She junmped up scared of wat could be happening. She only knew one person to call. Running oevr to the counter she felt her way against the wall. She caughed up blood as she reached for the phone. With the phone in hand and blood dripping from ehr mouth and slowly now from ehr eyes she fwelt for the numbers. She felt teh numbers in brail and dialed. "hello this is the local hospital." The lady on the other end chimed. "Send over Michael...even if this isnt his hospital please just send him! Doctor MICHAEL! If he isnt in send over doctor GABE!"" She cried dropping the phone falling to the ground covering ehr eyes wiping the blood away.

Michael was sound asleep on a comfy little bed so his legs won't toss and turn as much. He usually never dreamed of anything but this time he was. There was his days of operating back at his old hospital until something sounded like a phone ringing.

Opening his eyes slowly he rubbed his eyes and heard the phone ringing. "Ugh," He groaned, just realizing how was he going to get out of the bed with his legs broken to his wheelchair? He sighed, luckily he puts his wheelchair right next to the bed in case of emergencies. He carefully got out of the bed and transferred himself to the wheelchair.

Once he got through the hallways he picked up the phone and put it against his ears. "Hello?" he said weakly. He didn't know what time it was. But it was in the middle of the night. "Dr.Greer I know you're off from work but there's an emergency at Blue Springs Road," The person on the phone explained.

He was shocked, He was off from work and they're asking him to do an emergency. "Do you know the person's name?" He asked still rubbing his eyes.

"She didn't say, all she said was to send over you or Dr. Cunningham. But since you're at the medical office we called you guys instead," The reciever continued to explain.

The surgeon sighed, he couldn't pick his patients. "Send an ambulance here. I'll be ready by then," He said still in a tired tone. He quickly grabbed his coat since Forget me not was literally a mile away from Mineral Town. About two minutes they sended over the ambulance and were heading off to where someone was living. He just wanted to go back to sleep but whoever was in danger he had to do it.

what seemed like thirty seconds they were there, and he could of sworn he reconized this house. The team busted in and he couldn't believe his eyes it was his patient, Molly. he was literally just standing there shocked. But there was no time he went near her. "Get a stretcher, she need to be transfered!" He yelled to the other paramedics. The others ran back to the ambulance.

"Molly, You're going to be fine. Just hang in there,"

Molly coukld hear noises. Then she heared the door bust down and backed against the wall. She ehared Michaels voice then ti all went black. She woke when she was in the ambulence but couldnt see a thing." Mi-" She started to say but coughed up someblood. She wiped the blood away and felt around for a hand to grab. "Michael? Are you there?" She asked searching for some warmth. She thought of her cats suddenly and started to squirm. "My cats!" She said starting to egt up but then she felt somthing nuzzle against ehr face. She knew it was dite by the fur and then kitcat walked on ehr belly. She put her head bacjk on the stretcher and started to rbeath deeply. "I...I cant see...I cant see anything...." She said rolling her ehad off to the side trying not to cry.

Oh good lord she was alive. He shooed the cats away since they eould be interfering with her condition. She tried to say something but instead came out blood. He sighed, he shouldn't have let her run away from her health. The paramedics came back with the strecher and carefully put her on and pushed her into the ambulance. He looked at Molly worriedly, was she going to live?

She couldn't see a thing. "It must be the lights in here, Just blink a few times and you may be able to see," He explained. Hoping that she wouldn't go blind, he just sat there biting his nails. He never wanted to lose a patient again. That was one of his fears. The others kept checking her vitals and blood pressure since she kept coughing out blood.

He was just having a friendly chat with his good friend Gabriel and then this happens. Great. well this gives them a chance to examine her once she's good enough to go to the medical office.

They arrived at the hospital and immediatly transferred her to the E.R. This wheelchair was holding him back on everything. Well atleast he was happy to see the hospital again but this time he was more focused on his patient.

She stayed on ehr bed with her eyes open focused on the ceiling. She blinked but still couldnt see anything. she rolled her head over and closed ehr eyes. She tryed to hold back the blood but there was no use. She coughed up some blood and wiped it away. Once she was all settled in she asked meekly to one of the doctors. "Is michael in here?" Molly wanted to talk to him. "Well if he isnt can you let him in?" she asked wiping some blood away from ehr eyes. Her pupils were now a greyish blue color and there were blood lines all oevr the white part. She moved her eyes as she usaully did but couldnt see. She sighed as her cats curled up onto ehr belly purring away knowing somthing was wrong.

After taking many tests on her, they still couldn't find the right diagnosis. But one was concerning them. "Hey Dr.Greer. Take a look at this," A female doctor said to him. The surgeon wheeled towards her and was handed a stack of a few papers. There was a lot of possible diagnosis.

"She has a chance of sarcoidosis in her lungs and eyes?" He said shocked. It was true the disease can hit every organ but hopefully that wasn't the diagnosis. She couldn't see and she was coughing up blood. He was relieved that she was still in the early stages. She needed to stay in the hospital until we find the right diagnosis and till she feels better.

The surgeon sighed. He would have to confirm this with his friend Gabriel so they could do more tests and find the correct one. Hopefully it wasn't sarcoidosis. That's a scary disease and fatal. Plus some couldn't be treated with surgery unless they had granulomas then it couldn't be treated with surgery. He headed towards Molly's room with a clipboard in his hand. Again he shooed the cats away since they would probably worsen her health or the cats health.

He looked up to her but she seemed to focus on the ceiling. "There's a chance you may have sarcoidosis. It's not confirmed yet but it's a possible answer," he explained trying to have a concern tone in his voice. He had to break the news to everyone's disease or this couldn't be cured. She needed a lot of medical attention since it was affecting her eyes and lungs.

Something was wrong in Forget-Me-Not Valley. Gabriel got a phone call from a nurse asking if he could come over, but apparently there was a response from a different person who got ahold of Micheal. He still wanted to check things out though. Not many emergencies did happen here, but for him to get a call even though he's all the way in Mineral Town something had to be up. He ended up running over there panting as he got to the door.

"Excuse me," he said asking a nearby nurse. "What's wrong?"

"A girl came in recently coughing up bloody sputum and she lost her vision," she said before rushing off.

Right away Gabriel knew it was Molly. Only yesterday he had heard her condition from Micheal and things had already progressed so far. Hastily he looked for Micheal, once he found them he rushed over to him all sweaty. "Micheal, what's her condition?"

Michael turned his head and realized it was Gabriel who came in panting and sweaty asking for her condition. He came here in a rush by what it seems. By this time the two were probably wide awake from what's happening. He frowned. "Possible sarcoidosis in the eyes and lungs. It's not confirmed yet though," He explained.

He was literally hoping it was something else. Sure it would be fatal but he could cure her or at least help her through this? He sighed, now's not the time to make a joke. They had to run more test since this could of been genetic or something new. He should check the medical records and see the possible outcomes.

"We have to run more tests and find a diagnosis. I need you to help me, Gabriel,"

He explained looking at him in the eye. This search could possibly be an ongoing diagnosis hunt or just find it today. But she could come out with more symptoms and that changes the whole entire diagnosis.

Her blood pressure was low from loosing blood and her vitals were at a bad position. She couldn't see. She couldn't be blind. She's too young, four years younger than himself. She barely started her life yet. He couldn't afford to lose another patient.

Molly's condition had certainly turned for the worse, but the important thing was that she still was alive. If she really did have sarcoidosis they'd have to treat her soon because she would be in a bad stage of it. First they would have to test her blood and get an x-ray of her lungs first to confirm the condition.

"Okay," Gabriel said looking into his friend's eyes. There was a firey determination burning in them as if he couldn't afford to lose Molly. Maybe it was that he cared for her, his passion as a doctor, or even a combination of both.

Immediatly he came up with a plan of action. "Stabalize her so we can get an x-ray, also look in her esophogus for lymph nodes--we might have to do a biopsy on them if her blood work and x-ray are negative," he said. "I'll handle the blood work if there isn't already a sample."

Soon he came up with a plan so they could confirm the diagnosis or find something else. Michael nodded agreeing to the plan. "You may want to check with the other doctors to see if they have a sample for her blood. We're running a bunch of tests," He noted Gabriel, turning his wheelchair around so he could stabilize his patient.

The sad thing is there wasn't a cure for blindness. Hopefully it was temporary and she could see again or just needed glasses or contacts. He never had a patient that was blind. "Don't worry. I can find out what's happening," He thought. She was coughing up blood almost every five seconds. And every time her blood pressure would go low.

It took several minutes to stabilize her. Her vitals were fairly normal and so was her blood pressure. He sighed of relief. He almost lost her there. "Molly is stabilized, we have to get an x-ray of her lungs to confirm the lung sarcoidosis," he explained to his friend.

Molly stayed on the bed listening to the two ramble on about her condition. She tryed to open her mouth to explain something but blood came out instead of words. She wiped her mouth off and started to speak swallowing back blood. She grasped her chest as she felt the insides of her lungs peeling away as if her lungs were shedding like a womans uterus does aftre shes older. she moved her pupils around hastily trying to see again. She wiped the blood seeping from her eyes away and shut her eyes softly imagining she was at home with her cats. Then she imagined her adopted father and thats when it happened. Her mind went blank and next thing she knew she was watching someone set her down on a door step. The man spit up a little blood on her then wiped it away. The woman wept sadly for her child. She helped the man up and started to speak softly to Molly. "Its ok...me and your father are leaving you here with this doctor...in hopes he can cure you be for it starts...." The woman gently held Molly to her face. Then she set the toddler down on the door steps again and started to walk away with the man that was spitting up blood. Everything started to swirl and then she was back to hearing the hospital noises. She sat up swiftly covering her face. "Flash abck....Thats why!" She said into her hands as a combination of tears and blood went down her cheeks.

Something wasn't right. he could almost sense something was wrong. "One minute, Gabe. I'm going to check on Molly really quick," He announced already turning his wheelchair. He could of sworn he stabilized her already which means she should be knocked out or sleeping right now. Did he do something wrong? Giving the wrong medication?

"Oh curse the Goddess," He mumbled angirly at himself. He went to her room and few minutes she literally zipped back up shouting

"Flashback...That's why!"

Michael cocked his head in confusion. Flashback? Flashback of what? He bit his lips and just stared at her. "Oh god, she isn't seeing any crazy images is she?"He thought. But soon enough there was blood coming down her cheeks. Yup, he did something wrong.

Cursing under his breath he quickly changed the medication and replaced it. "Molly....What were you thinking about?" He asked, somewhat worried about his patient. He grabbed a tissue and gave it to his patient so she could wipe the blood off her cheeks.

He sighed of relief, he was certainly not going to mistake the medication again.

She turned her head towards where she heared Michael. "Michael! I know why!" Molly said jumping around in her sleep suddenly feeling sleepy. "I know why Im here like this now!" she said yawing falling abck in ehr sleep. "Im here right now *yawn* becuase of m- " she suddenly fell asleep after feeling dizzy. She hit her head against the pillow and started dreaming. Next thing she knew she was standing in an empty cloudy dark space. She took deep breaths and started asking ehrself. "am...am i dreaming?" she said taking a few carefull steps foprawrd.

She was walking for a bit then she took a big fall. She didnt hit the floor but she stopped. She got up on ehr legs aswell. "where am I?" She asked the emptyness as she stood there looking around. Thats when she saw it. She saw a strange maiden. "A-are you the harvest Go-" the the strange glowing ladie put her finegr on Mollys mouth and waved her hand in front of them.

She saw the clouds clear and she was standing in air. She saw a man bringing a sick looking fish home to his family. She saw the man making fun of the fish. Then she saw the family eating the fish making faces. Then she saw the family spitting up blood going blind and cursing. The youngest of the family, a young boy, lived to be about a little older then molly as it looked. Then she saw all the familys after that getting the same way. Spitting up blood and going blind, losing theyre voice, or going deaf. Then the final result of them was...death after 48 hours after going blid, deaf, and losing theyre voice. Molly started to widen her eyes when she saw ehr flash back. She looked at the strange woman then turned and started to run crying running from the truth. She didnt want to dioe. She hoped that Michael could do somthing. Finally she dropped to the foggy ground clasping her face and crying.

Michael was getting an answer but then she looked dizzy and just smacked her face onto the pillow. "Molly?" He asked concerned. Well atleast she didn't suddenly die, that was a good thing. He just sat there looking at her seeming knocked out.

It looked like she was now stabilized and the medicine took effect. He sighed of relief again and grinned. he always felt this way after he just saved a person's life after something dangerous.

A few minutes later she just started crying, her hands burrying her face. He rushed towards her with a worried expression painted on his face. "Molly? What's wrong? Are you okay?" He asked.

He got the feeling that this wasn't sarcoidosis.

She opened her eyes but saw nothing. She felt tears roll down ehr cheeks. She moved ehr head towards Michael. "W-what would you do if i told you I only have 48 hours left to live?" she said trying to hold abck etars. "And the only way to not pass on is if YOU find the cure!" She cryed.

Michael blinked. You wouldn't die of sarcoidosis unless you refused to have treatment. "Molly, you're going to be fine. There are a bunch of doctors doing so many tests to confirm possible diseases. Once we find out which one we will start treatment right away. I promise you, I won't let you die through this," He explained qith a calm tone in his voice.

He failed once, but he wasn't going to fail twice. She was in a stable condition right now so there's no chance she was going to die within the next fourty-eight hours.

Him? Find the cure? "Molly, there might not be a cure but there is treatment which will prevent the symptoms of whatever disease you have," He explained once again. Not every disease had a cure or treatment. But some handful of lucky patients got a cure and most patients had treatment. Treatment was one of the best options to do.

Molly felt all hope wim away at ichaekls responses. "I see...then there is no ope for me if you refuse to listen to my crys." She said focusing her eyes at the ceiling but seeing nothing. She closed ehr eyes and took deep breaths as she thought. "I can tell you what caused this if you will actaully listen and not try to make me think other wise." She said moving ehr head back to Michael.

"Crying is what makes you human. It's okay," He said grinning. he was used to seeing his patient's or the patients family/friends cry. It was normal for him. But he once had a patient who got into a horrible car accident and literally his daughter cried her eyes out. But Michael couldn't help but atleast shed a tear. It was so depressing to see a little six year cry her eyes out. He wished he could calm her down but he was the lead surgeon for that operation.

"You know? Tell me," he said. If she told him he could get a lot of info and get a faster reply on what the diagnosis is.

Molly smiled a bit but frowned as she remembered her dream. "It started with my ten times great grandfather...he ate a poisonis fish that was also sick.... It was poisoned because it was a test subject in a lab." She said her eyes widening. "Him and his family died after 48 hours of being blind deaf or losing the bailite to speak." She said covering ehr eyes as she said blind. "But the youngest son lived and had chioldren...this poison and sickness stayed in the jeans...DNA...blah blah blah...." She said rolling gently in ehr seat. "It will forever stay untill the right doctor, you, will find the cure and ehal the current person infected, me." She said feeling sleepy. "That is why my family left me with a doctor...on his dorrsteps...hoping he will find the cure for me." She said closing her eyes and starting to yawn. "Try any type of herb or anything...take a blood sample from my eyes and when the blackness gos away from a liquid you have made...that will eb the cure." She said starting to drift asleep. "I suggest you find...the cure now...I only have about a day and a half left." She said falling asleep.

This wasn't sarcoidosis.

This truely, abosolutely not sarcoidosis.

Michael stood there with his jaw open. What kind of disease was this? "Molly, Thank you. I'll be right back," He said turning his wheelchair around going towards Gabriel who might not have heard everything in their conversation.

"Gabriel, This isn't sarcoidosis. This is something else. She says she only has a day and a half left. How are we supposed to do that?" He explained almost looking like he was going to bite his nails.

No it couldn't be. He couldn't lose another patient. Not after he lost someone part of his family. The two couldn't find a diagnosis in half a day. He felt pressured and rushed right now. No, he wasn't going to loose a patient.

Not ever again.
