Recovery (Robert, Alisa & Ashton)

Robert was up and about after being treated for the gash in his shoulder and the burns over the fronts of his hands and across his back. He was in better shape than some of the other victims of the fire at the inn. There was still no word on what caused it. Perhaps something happened in the kitchen? Maybe someone went out to smoke and the nearby grass caught and spread? With how people there were, he highly doubted the fire was intentional.

Silva remained outside of the hospital. She wasn't allowed in, and Robert had just finished an argument and a half with animal control, explaining to them that she belonged to him and keeping them from taking her away. They made an agreement to leave her be so long as she made no attacks on anyone.

He had to wheel around an oxygen tank with him. While he didn't need it, the staff wanted to make sure his lungs were clear of debris. It would be another day before they would take him off of the tank and remove the tubes from his nose where oxygen was being piped in.

He saw the little boy from the party in the male section of the ICU. The knight decided to make some conversation with the kid His ward bed was in the same room, so they were going to have to hang around each other for at least a day. RObert sat down on his own ward bed and looked over to the kid. "How are you feeling?" he asked.

Robert gave a nod to the boy and smiled. "Good to hear. From what I understand, you're just here for smoke inhalation. You certainly were luckier than most others." he replied with a calm tone of voice. "It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Robert." he introduced himself to the boy.

He accepted the letter and opened it to read what was inside. "So she's your sister? She never mentioned having a brother before. Perhaps she never thought to bring it up." he commented. "Well, I'm glad you and her managed to make it out of there alive. I wasn't going to let her or anyone else die in there." he spoke before looking over at the phone.

"I should probably call her and have her pick up Silva. I really don't need animal control to give me more grief, and I'm sure it'd be a good way to give Silva some time to socialize with Tibby. Those two seemed to get along rather nicely the last time I brought her to your sister's house." he commented before picking up the phone and calling the shop to have Alisa come down to pick up Silva.

Robert gave a nod after Alisa hung up the phone on her end. "Yeah. i asked her to come and pick up Silva. The hospital and the animal control people are on edge because of the simple fact that she's a pure wolf, regardless of how docile she is or how much I've trained her. But I can understand they wouldn't want any further commotion to cause panic. Of course I think she'll pay us a visit while she's here." Robert explained.

"So how did you two end up brother and sister? Parents' end up marrying or something of the like?" Robert asked out of curiosity. as he turned on the hanging TV and began flipping through the channels. "You don't have to answer though if it's something you'd rather not speak of." he added.

"I see. A rather tragic beginning, but at least there's a silver lining to it all. Alisa at least has you as her brother, blood or not." Robert spoke before laying down on his bed, eyes looking up at the TV, which was playing a news run about the fire.

"I'm not sure who I have as family. No one here anyways, unless you count Silva. She's practically family to me. I remember the face of my mother when she played the harp to me, but that's about as much as I remember of my family. I've no clue if they still live, if I have brothers or sisters or even what country I'm from. All I have is my sword and the symbol of a phoenix on the blade. Of course right now the hospital has that." Robert explained. "But right now I have Silva, and your sister as both my friend and my boss. I've only started getting to know people here in this country, and I see this country as my new home."

Robert shrugged a bit to the suggestion. "If I did, I'd need a place to live. The farm I live on now was given to me because it wasn't being used at all. Since I know Silva's pack no longer exists thanks to some hunters, I don't see any real reason to stay at the island except for my lack of lodging here." Robert mused a bit. While he didn't want to see the farm go back to waste, he had a job working under Alisa, and a boat commute wasn't exactly a favorable use of daily time.

Still, he wasn't sure how to go about finding a house of his own. He had a very limited amount of cash, much less than what would be needed to buy a home, especially one with some farm land, if for nothing else than to make himself and Silva some food and plenty of space to exercise himself and his wolf companion.

"Well, those are things I'll have to look into once the hospital clears me." Robert replied to the young boy. Sunshine Island was a pretty small place. Still, he knew getting a place in Forget Me Not would not be easy. One thing that was working against him was, ironically, Silva. Despite her tame and friendly nature, she was still a full-blooded wolf. Trying to find an apartment or inn where she would be welcomed was going to be difficult at best. That, and he didn't yet receive his first week's pay, so he had no idea what kind of money he would be making. While he wanted to be closer to work and closer to Alisa, one of the few friends he had, he needed to wait for a bit and find the right place first and foremost.

Robert looked over to Ashton. "Yeah, I went because of the party. While I'm not one for loud music, I wanted to meet new people, make new friends. After all, this country is my home now, so I want to get to know all the people I can." Robert replied to the young boy. "It always helps to know people in case they need help or you need help. Friends always support each other." he added further.

Robert looked over to see Alisa walk in. He gave her a smile as she asked how they were doing. Oddly enough, Ashton seemed to quiet up around her. Robert wondered what the sudden change was all about. "Better. They stitched up my wound, put me on antibiotics just in case of possible infection, and once the burn across my back is gone and healed, I'll be out of this place." Robert replied to her. "What about you? Are you doing alright since the fire?" he asked, feeling a bit concerned, mostly for her mental health. He hoped she still wasn't trying to blame herself for what happened.

Robert barely heard what Ashton said, but this wasn't the time. not to mention, Robert believed the comment was toward him, not Alisa. He would continue on as if he heard nothing, for now. "I'll be fine. I'll probably be working the register for a little while until they take me off the pain meds, otherwise my harp is going to sound like a dying cat." the young knight jested, chuckling a bit.

Robert took in a bit of a breath. "At least everyone was able to get out alive, thanks to everyone's hard work, including yours. The injuries we all suffered is nothing compared to what would have happened if everyone were out for themselves. I'm glad to see that the many people that live in this land are people of honor. I hope your arm gets better soon." he commented.

Alisa smiled as Robert talked. It was the least she could do.

"That won't be good. But I'll keep your harp from getting dusty." Alisa said in a joking way.

"Thank you though, for saving me there." she added. There was no way she'd be able to repay him for that. Alisa wasn't strong or anything. She wasn't smart at the moment because of a memory loss problem, and she broke down easily. There was no way she'd be able to do anything like what Robert did for her. "I'm greatful." she said.

There really wasn't anything for Ashton to say at the moment now so he kept quiet. Alisa needed to keep her social life active more then himself. His only friend had moved away so it wasn't like he could do so. Besides, he knew if Alisa's pride were to disappear from her friend loss, she'd be back to the same person. Anti-social, and quiet.

Robert smiled to Alisa and gave a nod to her words. "You're welcome Alisa." he replied simply in a pleasant tone of voice. Reaching over to a note pad, he grabbed some paper and a pen and began writing instructions on it. "I don't know how long I'll be here for, so I'll just give you some care instructions for Silva." Robert spoke and began to write as he spoke aloud.

"She needs to be walked twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening, for about an hour each time. Normally she eats vermin, but give her some food twice a day after each walk. She likes playing fetch. She knows how to sit, stay, come and I've trained her how to leave things alone with the 'Leave It' command. So, if she is about to do something you don't want her to get into, tell her Leave It, then Come, Sit and then give her a treat for obeying." Robert explained as he then handed her the note.

"Thanks Alisa. I'll see you when they release me from here." Robert spoke to her as she headed off to go and pick up Silva, who was already getting into mischief by pouncing into the flower bed by the hospital entrance. Robert laid down on his bed as the nurse came in and gave him a shot of sedative into the loading port of the IV catheter. Robert's mind went fuzzy from the drug, but that was a common side-effect. Robert was soon down for the count The nurse would tend to the shoulder wound and redress the bandaging before the nurse then left the room.

[Sorry, I'm just going to control Silva for ONE second, no more. ;A;]

Alisa giggled, seeing Silva in the flowers.

"Come on, Silva. You'll be coming with me for a while." she said playfully, patting her leg with her left hand. Silva followed obediently.

The nurse came in and did some things to Robert, giving him a sedative shot, which would give him a normal symptom of dizzyness, as well as probably make the patient sleep.

She gave Ashton some liquids for his throat before leaving. Was Robert still awake though?

"Hey..." he said, quietly, incase he was out.

[Sorry if I misinterperated something... The medicine I took for my cold is making me light headed and braindead... @_@]

Robert felt rather woozy, but he was still conscious. "Yes?" Robert calmly, yet drearily replied to the young boy as he remained laying down, his eyes watching the TV, which was starting to blur due to the drug. Robert felt a bit out of it, but he'd entertain his company while he was still awake.

Robert hmmed a bit to Ashton's question. He wasn't sure if Ashton had a girl and was asking advice, but it was a simple enough question to answer, regardless the reason for it. "Well..." Robert began to speak as he thought about his honest answer. "I think the best relationships are those that are built on trust and friendship. If you want to be with someone, you need to be yourself. You need to be honest, even when it's difficult. You need to treat them with honor, with respect, and with love." Robert spoke, summing up his own beliefs. "Basically, go at a pace you are both comfortable with. If things are going too fast, let them know. But don't make them wait forever."
