A Prayer (Open)

Lily walked into the church, her fiery red hair bouncing over her shoulder lightly as she walked. It was about time that she thanked god, she decided, and continued to walk towards the altar, passing several pews. She kneeled, closing her eyes and putting her hands together in a typical prayer position. "Oh lord, I wanted to ask your blessings. First, bless my friend Jordan - she really is sweet, but a little strange. Haha, whose talking, right?" she said with a chuckle before she resumed her prayer. "I just wanted to thank you for everything in my life, and to bless everyone in this town - they've done so much for mre." she said with a soft smile at the cieling after she opened her eyes.

A young girl had been sitting in a front row pew when lily had come in. She glanced up taking notice of her. "just another girl he to pray i suppose," she thought to herself before looking up. "um h hi there," she whispered quietly.

He wasn't religious at all. Ari just felt the need to visit the church in the town. He was away on business, searching for a suitable gallery but once he passed the church, he suddenly felt the urge to walk in. He just wanted to pay his respects to Dylan--not to speak to some made-up myth. So he wandered in and sat in some pew, not even noticing a red haired woman sitting next to him. He heard her mumble something and Ari just rolled his eyes but then a girl had turned around in front of them. He just blinked at the girl and almost decided to leave, but he wasn't finished.

He felt a bit bitter towards them for talking in a church. He felt that it should be silent. He didn't bother looking towards them, "There is no Harvest God." He spoke then casually glanced over and down towards the women, "If there was, why would he take everything that is beautiful from world?" He didn't know if they would actually answer and he truthfully didn't care if they did respond.

"hmmmm that's a good question," she whispered thoughtfully glancing at the boy. "she hadn't seen him before and was usually a little awkward with dtrangers, but he seemed to be an ok sort of person, not one to abuse her or anything.

"Oh hello." she said, a little shyly. She didn't have many friends yet, and she didn't want to scare any potential friends away with her boisterous attitude. "Its a pleasure to meet you. I'm Lily." she said with a gentle smile, her large green eyes shining brightly. She bowed down to pray her prayer and her eyes flickered open and saw that another person had joined her. And then her heart began to break at the man's words.

"Well, I believe in him, and I think its simply because every life is special, and I think that when he takes someone, its because he might miss them, and want them back. After all, its through love that he created them, right? And us as well. Take something you worked on for instance. Like I worked on a little pottery project. I really loved it, yet, I let my friend have it because she begged me. When it was gone, I felt empty without it. Then my friend, who had to move away, gave it back to me, saying she had no room. I was delighted to have it back once again, and I put it on the mantle in my room, where the sunshine shone on it. I imagine that's the way our god must feel about certain people in our lives. He created us all in his image, right? And I believe if you pray to him for understanding, he will provide the answer." she said softly, hoping to explain it as best she could so that he might understand.

Amy nodded at the girl very meekly not really one for socialising. She sighed and went back to praying but as soon as she closed her eyes, images flashed through her mind and she began to shake. "no, no stop, get away from me!" she thought to herself.
