Chapter 1 Amnesia
“All hands on deck!” the captain called. A hurricane was going on at sea. It was a rough one. The sky was black as several waves crashed into the boat.
Watch out your highness!” someone called as the prince flew to the other side of the boat. That same person grabbed his hand as he flew. “Got you!” he said. His grip loosened. The prince was blown away again.
“Ah!” the prince screamed as he blew off of the boat and into the ice cold water.
A young servant girl walked along the shores, onto the dock. Her name was Shinta Aimaine. It was a beautiful day in the kingdom of Vocaloid. The sky was a clear and sunny while the ocean was a deep blue.
Shinta smiled and looked out into the distance of the water. There was something on the surface. It was hard to tell what it was at first. She then realised it. It was a human. Shinta gasped before diving into the water. She swam to the person floating in the cold water. It was autumn. No one would swim in the ocean at this time. Barely anyone would swim there any time in this kingdom. She swam the person onto the shore. It was a boy, and luck fully he was alive. Shinta didn’t recognize him though. He had blonde hair with a rather formal outfit on. It didn’t look like anything someone would wear in this kingdom.
“Must be from a foreign kingdom…” she said as she wiped his shining hair out off of his face. His eyes then began to twitch. It seemed he was waking up. Shinta’s eyes widened. She was about to learn about the person she saved. He opened his blue eyes and squinted from the sun’s rays. Shinta was staring down at him. Her view of him was clear but his view of her was too bright. To him, it was almost if an angle was looking down at him. He thought he had died for a moment until he got more used to the light.
“Excuse me miss,” he started as he sat up. “Where am I?” he politely asked Shinta. He knew he wasn’t in his own kingdom now. The boy had never seen this place before. It was certainly not like the beach in his kingdom. Or was there a beach? Truthfully, he didn’t remember.
“You’re in Vocaloid Kingdom! I’m Shinta.” Shinta replied. She wondered who this boy was. He looked around. There were many sea shells around the area.
“My name is Len.” he introduced himself. He thought he would have to be polite to her. It was strange though. She didn’t look like anyone he had met before. Really, it felt as if he hadn’t met anyone in his life.
“So, where do you live?” Shinta asked him. She was still curious about this. She wanted to know about him. Len thought for a bit.
“I’m not sure…” Len said. “I don’t remember…” He finished. Shinta thought. He couldn’t remember where he was from. Could be have amnesia? It must have been that. What else could it be?
“At least you remembered your name!” Shinta replied, trying to joke around. She then helped Len stand up and pulled him towards the direction of west.
“Where are we going?” he asked Shinta. He was a little confused. What was she going to do to him? Surely she wouldn’t kill him. Would she?
“We’re going into town! Prince Kaito would surely love to meet you.” she replied. Shinta looked happy to Len. She was. It was nice to meet Len. “Come on!” she said as she began to run. Len almost tripped with Shinta tugging his arm.
After a while of running, Shinta slowed down to catch her breath. Len was almost dying from the distance they had run. He wondered.
“How can you run for such a long time?” he questioned in between breaths. Shinta looked at him and smiled. Shinta explained that she had to run a lot. Her house was ways from the castle and she always seemed to forget something at her house so she had to run a long distance every time she did. Why run though? If she didn’t, Kaito, the prince, would be furious from waiting so long. “I see…” he finished.
“Come on, Hiromi would love to meet you!” she said, pulling him again. Trying not to run as fast, she couldn’t help but speeding her pace.
By the time they arrived at the castle, Len was almost dead again. Shinta was only slightly tired. They were in the kitchen, where Hiromi worked. She was the chef for Prince Kaito. To tell the truth, she loved the prince but never admitted it.
“Hello Hiromi!” Shinta said as she pulled Len inside. Hiromi looked at the two and smiled.
“Hello Shinta, and who might this be?” she asked as she pointed to Len. Len tried to back away but Shinta wouldn’t let him.
“His name is Len.” she replied with a big grin on her face. It was obvious she was happy. Len smiled at her.
“She saved me. I awe my life to her.” Len said as he took Shinta’s hand and kissed it as a gentleman would. Shinta giggled.
Hiromi went back to cooking as Shinta brought Len back to her home. It was an old shack in the middle of nowhere.
“This is you’re house?” he asked, unsure of what he saw. Shinta sighed and nodded. She was not happy with it. Really, she was overworked and underpaid. If she got as much money as she was supposed to, she would be living in a mansion with her own servants.
“Yep… And for the time being, you’ll have to stay here.” she replied. Len thought for a bit. It would be okay.
“There are a couple of things you need to know about the kingdoms in the world of Vocaloid. One: Always keep your loyalty to the kingdom you live in. Loyalty between two kingdoms may lead to war, or worse. Two: Don’t trust all around you, for it could lead to tragedy. Three: Never fall in love with another person who lives in a different kingdom like Len and Shinta did…” ____ Author's note: Whoops! Wrong title... I changed it... -_-" I know... Another one! You must be really annoyed at me because I keep posting new stories and then never work on my old ones... XD Well, worry not. I will get back to those and besides, this is a short story. WebKare - Which One To Choose
- Spoiler:
There was a new girl in school. She was a lot different than others. Probably it was the fact she previously lived in Canada. It also might have been the fact she had blonde hair, unlike all the others. Everyone else had either a shade of red for hair color, or not even a color which was black and brown. She was different but she always caught peoples’ eyes. And the reason was not because she was different.
The girl walked down the hall, ignoring the people gossiping about her. There was a lot of talk going on about her. “How did she learn Japanese so well in just a few days?”, “What a stupid hair color!”, and “Look how pathetic she looks.” were very popular conversations that went on. Even with all of the insults, she tried to make it look like it was no big deal. She failed at this though. You always saw a sad face on her. She was almost crying once. It was sad for her. She was always moving from one place to another to avoid her past. It all came back to her though.
Her past was very sad. Millions of people died because of that one man. She was the only survivor out of all the people. That night, she cried herself to sleep beside the corpses of her dead parents.
The girl sighed. She then heard someone talking.
“Guys, she’s new. Deal with it. No need to be mean.” the person said. The girl turned around. It was a boy, about sixteen, with brown hair. She couldn’t see his eye color for he was facing the same direction as her. He then turned around. She could now see his eyes. They were the same shade as his hair. “I’m Shun Aiba.” He said, smirking. This was her first introduction. She blushed slightly.
“I’m… Setsuko Tetsuo” she said, trying to cover her face with shadows. One of his eyebrows slanted.
