Visiting a memory

Foamy water lapped at the soles of Red's shoes, adding a more contrasted shine to them.
She stood facing the horizon, quietly lost in thought. She had come here when she first came to Forget-Me-Not-Valley, and she wasn't quite sure if she'd fit in.
Those worries had dissolved with the waves over time, and she had gradually come to love the community.

That was quite a while ago... Maybe a year? How long has it been?... she thought, her gaze keenly locked on the waves, but her mind floating elsewhere in space.

"Hiya red!" *walks onto the beach*

"Huh? Oh, Hi Ciera" Red waved with a smile.

"What are you doing?"

"Ahhh... Just day dreaming..." Red sighed as a slight breeze came through.

"I see, oh by the way have you heard the news about me and jay?"

"Huh? No~ Is there something coming?" Red smiled eagerly.

"Yep i'm pregnant." *expression stays neutral*

Red gasped happily, a smile on her face.
"Really?! That's wonderful, Ciera! How long has it been?" Red asked, obviously intrigued. It would take no magic to detect her happiness for Ciera.

"About a month so far, but for jay and i it comes with a price."

"Wow, a month... I can't beleive I didn't know!" Red sighed, mentally slapping herself.
"Wait... What do you mean by that? What price?" Red questioned, her smile slowly turning.

*puts hand on stomach and sighs* "I may not survive bringing this new life into the world."

"Wait... What?" Red stumbled, quite startled from the statement.
"How... Why? Your the Harvest Godess's daughter! What will the Harvest Godess say?" Red stuttered, trying to think of an excuse to stall Ciera's death.

"I'm a magical creature, i'm not a human being like you, it's complicated for me but so simple for you."

"But... It's not simple..." Red muttered, her gaze falling to the white sand.

"It's simpler though."

"Ciera, your magical. It's so hard for us to understand the world of magic, what you can and can't do... Is there anything we can do to help?" Red pleaded, feeling the immense weight of exclusion from the magic world on her shoulders again.
She started wondering if she was in over her head.
She's right though... I probably can't help... she thought.

"When i die, just be there for jay, help him move on."

With a sigh, Red nodded in a quiet, sad acceptance.
"We'll miss you" she added in an almost inaudible voice.

"And i'll miss you, but you know the cool part?"

"What?" Red looked up to Ciera with wide eyes.

"I have a hope of being reincarnated, and if i am i'll be able to come back!"

"Huh... Wait- What? Reincarnated?" Red parked up, sparks igniting in her mind.
"If you reincarnate, don't you usually come back as someone or something else?" Red asked, eyes focused on Ciera with wide and questioning eyes.

"Yes but i'll have my memories, and that should make me able to convince jay it's me."

"Oh... I'll try to keep a lookout for you..." Red sighed, not really sure what to say.
