A book from the past

Kyle came down the stairs carrying a stack of books, constantly swaying side to side, the stacks of books threatening him its gonna fall. He reached the last step and sighed in relief. He walked to a cart and palced the books neatly there brushing them off of excess dust that has been coating the covers. He grimaced as he blew on the book, as a cloud of dust flew off. Kyle sneezed. He rubbed his eyes irritating the skin as it turned a bit red. He looked at the book. He accidently dropped the blue book.
The Little Bird
It was one of his favorite children's book when he was little. Kyle bit his lip hard as he picked it back up. It startled him because memories of the past came flowing in, memories he didn't want to see. Kyle shook his head. Kyle smiled to himself as he caressed the book. He hesitated, then finally opened to book. He frowned. It was such a tattered, faded book. It used to be a bright blue book, with colorful bright pictures in every page. Unconsiously he went to the counter and laid the book down.

kazu then walked in the libary. she was happily humming. she didn't seem to notice kyle at first, but then turned and looked at him, blinked once, and turned back to what she was doing. Kazu had bene out of it latley die to all the things on her mind.

Books were a great escape, Arden found. Life giving you heck? Go to a library and lose yourself in someone else's problems. Once you read a happy ending, everything in real life seemed a little better.

Children's books were even better. Who didn't love a good fairytale? That's what she was looking for at that moment; a children's book for her cousin. She moved slowly along the aisles and aisles of books, not paying attention to anything except the firmly-bound, colorful books in front of her. She looked up once, spotted Kyle, and that was all it took to get her back to reality. She immediately snapped out of her daze and blinked.

Should I go say hi...?

She decided to walk over, holding a thin paperback to her chest. Wordlessly, awkwardly, she stood there, not sure what to say. She smiled cautiously. "Uh, hi."

"arden-channnn!" kazu said suddenly appearing out of nowhere. and in atempt to glomp her friend, ending up knocking her foreward. al with a look of great joy on her face. as if she knew what she was doing and planned it from the start. you never really knew with kazumi.

"Oof." Arden was not that big of a girl, and getting glomped was...rather painful, actually. Especially when you pitched forward, falling on your face. "Hi, Kazu," she said, carpet muffling her voice. She picked herself up off the ground, brushing her pants off with her hands. "Gee. Thanks," she said sarcastically, grinning to show that there were no hard feelings. Sure, she was embarassed. So what?

hmm missed. kazu thought disapointed. geuss my math was a bit off "ohh nothing!" she said cheerfully. next time i'll get you for sure! "so anyway, whatcha doin here?" she asked.

Unaware of his surroundings, Kyle re-read the book or the 7th time now. He scratched his head, unsure how he is going to restore the book. While staring at the book he though he heard someone coming, but bother looking up to see who it was. Whoever it was had to wait, he hesitated and though unless its Arden..., likely she wouldn't come to a library... Instantly he got engrossed into the book not hearing a word anyone said.
*Thudddddd*
Kyle peered up from his book and say Arden on the floor with Kazu. He tilted his head a little staring in confusion. When did they come here?

"looks like the mouse fianlly woke up from his nap." kazu teased. she gebtly giggled. kazu was the type whop could pick up thing from her friends almost instantly. weather it was emotions or something else.

Arden smiled softly, tucking her hair behind her ears. "Hi, Kyle," she said nonchalantely, sitting down at the table he was at. "What book is that?" The cool mahoganey table deeply clashed with the vibrant, loud, attractive colors of the children's books that both she and Kyle had in their hands. It was discordant, but somehow exactly right. She couldn't imagine a more perfect combination of colors, personalities.

She traced the binding of one of her books absently, focusing her gaze on it.

He looked up and saw Arden smiling, he gave a quick smile as she sat down.
"Ah... this is my favorite children's book..." Carefully handing the book to Arden. He smiled at the book intensley, closing his eyes. His eyes shot open as he noticed what he was doing, and then the smile faded away.
"Ah..."
Kyle turned away blushing.

Arden blinked. Obviously, this was more to Kyle than just an old, scrappy book. He didn't beam at many things, she had noticed. She looked at the title of the book. The Little Bird... She hadn't read it before, but she had heard a song with the same title. For a millisecond, her mind wandered off to discover the lyrics of that song, which was archived somewhere in her young mind. But then she snapped back to reality.

"It's great that you have good memories from your childhood," she said quietly. She closed her eyes and tried to remember one good thing like that from her youth. It didn't work. She opened her eyes and sadly propped her elbows up on the table. "What's it about?" she asked, motioning towards The Little Bird.

a smile pasr on kazu's face. she turned to leave. i'll just leave 'em alone she thought. "see you guys!" she called walking out the door. she smiled as she stepped outside and the warm sun washe don her face. she looked down at the ground. seeing those two made her think about herown feelings. but what feelings were those? she didn't know. she brushed it off and walked down the road.
