“Baba yetu, yetu uliye. Mbinguni yetu, yetu, amina!” The red head sang in a soft tone of voice, mindlessly tip-toeing around the Goddess pond. She had heard the song once, somewhere, she didn’t know what they were saying in their lyrics but it was certainly a pretty song, which she had caught on very quickly. Thank goodness for her lovely musical skills. “Baba yetu, yetu, uliye. Jina lako litukuzwe.” She sang out, just a little bit louder now, adding a little movement into her steps, lifting her hands up slowly.
If only Savannah could remember where she had heard it. “Baba yetu, yetu ulive.” She spun around, for some reason; she felt the wind pick up a little around her… Or maybe that was just because she spun a bit faster. Her arms held out to the side. She felt like she was doing some sort of tribal chant, but she enjoyed it with a grin.
“Jina lako litukuzwe.” She danced in almost what seemed like an African kind of style. My, how the imaginary music made her sing, how she traveled in her step. But what made her curious the most was how she could remember the words and rhythms but not the name of the song or where she heard it. Maybe somewhere along her travels.
“Mbinguni yetu, yetu, anima!” Her voice rose a little louder as she stopped spinning and danced a bit in her spot, waving her hands around. She faced the pond with her chest huffing up and down as her eyes were scaled towards the sky.
