Writer's Pond Empty
PostSubject: Writer's Pond   Writer's Pond EmptyWed Apr 13, 2011 2:51 am

He was tempted to just dive in--the water looked so deep to him. Lucius snorted under his breath, releasing the air from his lungs with a huff. The bitter cold hung around himself; he could practically see the heat radiating off of him. He was glad that he had decided on heavier clothes instead of only wearing two layers. The older man scrunched up his nose and took a few steps back, taking in the beauty that was the Goddess Pond, surrounded by the tiny white crystals on the ground. He bit his bottom lip, half-heartedly hoping it would warm himself up a little.

From his back pocket Lucius pulled out a small notebook. With nimble and elegant fingers, he carefully unbound the strap and fingered through the vast amounts of pages (some written upon while some were etched with doodles) to find a fresh new page. From his coat pocket he pulled a pen, nothing all that special about it. He quickly scratched down at few words and jotted down notes about his new found inspiration. "The evening hangs beneath the moon... A fine... No." He paused, placing the pen against his lip in thought before beginning to scratch down more words. "A silver thread on darkened dune... With closing eyes and resting head... I know that sleep is coming soon."

He let out a frustrated groan; he mumbled to himself, "I don't know."

[Mind if I jump in? <3]

We few, we happy few...

It was a line she was read in a book she just finished the other day. A book that she found in the many drawers in her Inn room. Someone probably left it. Celeste did enjoy reading books, she never judged a book by its cover. Although she didn't like anything violent, it just...scared her. She was glad her childhood was over, starting a new life was much better.

Celeste catiously walked along the dirst path leading to the Goddess Pond. The pond was beautiful and relaxing somehow but you can't having this feeling someone is watching you. Some people say its the Harvest Goddess. Those fools! Nothing like that exists! It's just a beautiful pond that people come to and relax. It was just ridiculous.

She calmly stopped in her tracks, looking to her right. There was a man muttering to himself then just groaned. She just stared curiously and being aware of her surroundings. Well, no one else was here except the two of them. Well that sort of still gave her the creeps. She walked a little bit further until somehow again she stepped on a stick and made a noticible sound. Man! Why does she keep stepping on sticks? It reminded her of the time when she was trying to walk past cody until a darn stick revealed her presence. Well this place did have trees but a stick in a middle of a road. Genius.

{Of course not dearie <3}

Truth be told, Lucius had really not been paying attention to the world around him--he was somehow so immersed in his writing that he had forgotten the pond in front of him. 'Thank the Goddess, for once.' He thought with little praise, he was just happy to have found some sort of inspiration to his muse. But suddenly, his creative words came to a halt and not a word could be scribbled down. He let out a groan and practically threw his book to the ground. "Bloody brilliant." He spat under his breath. Then another sound echoed through the area--someone else was with him. He quickly stopped any sort of motion and stayed still.

He pursed his lips together, debating on speaking, but finally spoke, "Who's there?" He sounded confident, for a moment, but cracked slightly as he finished his words. He slowly turned around, "Show yourself." He scanned the area and finally spied a young woman in the near distance. He was surprised, if only for a moment, almost believing that she was the Goddess herself, but realized that was utter nonsense. "Good day." He spoke, not caring if the girl spoke back to him.

"Who's there? Show yourself"

Those were the exact lines a police would say. It scared her tons of times. She hated sticks, it was her new enemy. She step off the broken stick or branch. But the man kindly spoke to her just realizing that she was not a criminal trying to plot something. Quietness. Quietness lingered through the area for a few moments.

"Um....hello,"

Celeste spoke up, breaking the silence. You could only hear the river when it was quiet. He didn't seem to care if she spoke. Which was good because she did not like talking to strangers. But she began to get to used to her surroundings and believed that good people lived here. Like Ruby the one how owned the Inn and some of the other peple living there. But she would never know if some crime happened. Obviously she would go in a panic attack.

"W-what brings you here?"

She hesitated a little.

For a moment there, Lucius began to think that she actually was a mirage because she hadn't spoken to him yet. He perked up a brow and bent down to pick up his little book once more. Finally she spoke up, Lucius put up his defense slightly--apparently people here thought that they could trust anyone. Obviously, nobody ever left the village that much. He scrunched up his nose slightly and pressed his hand over his mouth, like he was trying to flatten the goatee on his face.

Then she spoke again, asking him a question. He paused for a moment and glanced over his shoulder towards the young woman out of curiosity; she was still talking to him? A complete stranger? He inwardly shrugged and assumed that this woman probably meant no harm and was just enjoying the forrest, much like he was prior. "I had heard rumors about this place," he told her, "about it's peace and it's ability to calm the soul." He made a motion towards the area around him, "So I suppose inspiration." He answered.

"And yourself?"

[I was learning shakespeare at the time :'D, turns out I got a 100% on that test o_O]

The man was true. This pond did calm you at certain times. You can just sit and watch your reflection all day if you wanted too. Celeste walked a little closer, keeping her space between herself and the man. He did look older than her. There was never a peaceful day in her household, she was scarred, maybe for life. She didn't know.

"I-I just came here to relax a bit," She stuttered. She was really shy meeting new people or to put it in a easier way, she thought they were untrustworthy. It was her instinct. But everytime she would run into the person and maybe find the good in that person. But she really hadn't seen a lot of it yet. She was invisible at parts, like a chameleon. Maybe not invisible. She had long, bright red hair and bright green eyes that glowed in the dark.

She never really talked a lot. She hated small talk but she didn't like a long conversation where she would spill everything and practically ruined her life. Maybe she was afraid of people betraying her or hating her. She never wanted to be hated or underestimated.
