Hidden Messages [PH - Gabriel and Adamaris]

The attack was weird without a doubt. It had been almost an hour since he had gotten the girl to his office and she was resting on a bed at the moment. He had given her an IV drip just incase with a small dose of codine, to dull the pain she would probably get when she would wake up. He sat in the room wondering what exactly would do this to her--make her mentally unstable. He would have to ask her later though, once she could speak calmly about whatever happened. That could be months or years though. Physical problems could heal fast, metal ones took forever.

Adamaris remained still for some time; all seemed normal. Adamaris' lip trembled for a moment, she let out a whimper and was silent again. In her new dream, she was angry, full of rage, she couldn't control. She was wielding her sword; it was magma, and everything she touched burned. The whole meadow was now a burnt plain; she raised her hand a volcano appeared. Walking up to it, there was a familiar girl hanging by a rope; about to slip. It was her. Adamaris slipped; and plummeted down into the magma, there was a flash of bright light, and Adamaris jerked her head to one side, pulling herself awake. Her chest was heaving, she took in her surroundings and took a deep breath, and then noticed Gabriel. The room was spinning, and her head was still aching, but the pain had subdued, luckily. "Thank you," she murmurs thoughtfully to Gabriel.

Gabriel was reading over Adamaris's charts when he heard her mummbling something. She must have been having a bad dream or been in pain. He looked over to see that her eyes were open and she sat up and quietly said thanks. "You might want to lay back down for a bit," he informed the girl. Most conditions he experienced like this involved patients feeling light-headed, dizzy, or like they were going to vomit. He was different from before, more serious and doctor like. That is what often happened to him when he delt with medical problems. It was as if someone turned a switch on in his head and he felt like he had to concentrate to save people. "Try not to do so much at the moment--when you collapse you don't really get any rest at all."

Adamaris smiles. "Thank you, but I'll be fine-" Adamaris sits up; and nearly falls over; her sword sheathe swayed and fell in the floor; and Adamaris lolled back onto her pillow. "Never mind," she mutters, bringing her head back up to hold her head. "Can you fix me up?"she asks, watching Gabriel and the rest of the room sway. She hated how she brought so much trouble into everyone's lives, it seemed like a daily basis thing.

Adamaris tried to get up, but as he expected she wasn't ready and wanted him to cure her as fast as possible. Her sword fell onto the floors and she fell back onto her pillows. It might be awhile till her energy returned to her, "I'm working on it," he said pointing to the IV bag and injecting another small dose of codine in it. "The medicine should kick in more shortly, so you're going to have to wait a bit. Just let time pass by--tell me if you are starting to feel nauseaus too."

Adamaris' system responded as soon as she heard the word. "Yep... I'm nauseous," she grumbles, she fills her stomach becoming upset. She listens to it gurgle- Not quite sure if it was out of hunger or from being simply nauseous- although it could be possibly she was simply hungry. She turns her head to look at her graphs. "Amazing things, doctors can do," she says, smiling for some odd reason.

The girl was nauseaus and he wrote a note a clipboard about it--it could be useful information later. Even though Adamaris was laying down it was easy to tell she was steadily improving. She looked at the graphs and charts that she could see and seemed dazed by them. This was normal though, learning how to read those things was difficult for Gabriel himself--but now he was a proffesional at it and better than most doctors. "I didn't go to medical school for nothing," he commented. "You feeling better now?"

"Could be a lot better..." she laughs pitifully; adjusting her pillow to where she could sit up and look at her surroundings. The room still spun, but not as bad. "What exactly happened to me?" she asks; holding her head. She had a melancholic expression around her. "I know she is in my head, but I've tried to make a little blockade there, a little penumbra if you will," she says, her eyes looked tired.

"You had a seizure from a panic attack," Gabriel explained in terms that he knew wouldn't make her have to think as much. Thinking probably bugged the girl at the moment. "You then collapsed and I brought you here and gave you some medication." Adamaris was worn out--Gabe could tell by the way she talked and by looking at her eyes. At least the scary part was over for her, but then she might relapse again. She was good for the moment, but he couldn't say anything for when she leaved. The split personality had a name apparently--which wasn't technically a good sign. It ment that this would be all the more difficult for her. "You shouldn't worry about that right now, okay?"

"If I forget about the penumbra, it will disappear, and my alter ego can break out at anytime. Her name is Incendia, she's made that well known..." Adamaris mutters, shivering at how Incendia was at her strongest when Adamaris thought about fire. "Well, do you have any medication that a lunatic like me can take to help keep Incendia at bay?" Adamaris asks, feeling her eyes close and her head droop.

"The codine should help you relax for a bit," Gabriel noted. He did realize that eventually it wouldn't work anymore. It was only a measure to prevent the attacks from happening at the moment. He probably would have to specially order something for the girl. She was even asking him for stronger meds as her head started to droop and her eyes too. "I'll see what I can find," he sighed looking through his files in the room. "The codine should work for the time being, but that only lets you relax a bit. I'm going to have to call up a psychology specialist friend of mine from the city."

"Thank you..." Adamaris says; feeling her eyes close. - She lost consciousness. Another dream. This time, she was in a lake; and Incendia was sprouting fire from her hands laughing evilly; trying to kill Adamaris mentally. Adamaris couldn't swim; and the fire was getting closer. "Help..." could be heard in the outside world, Adamaris flipped back into the water more. "This... Is... Just... A.... Dream!" Adamaris murmurs, trying to escape her alternate self; not to much avail.

Adamaris drifted back into unconscience and started to dream again, so Gabriel went to his office to look up a medication to fit her needs. As he was browsing on his computer for awhile he heard the words help and he ran into the room to see Adamaris was just having a nightmare. "Don't worry about it," he said walking up to the bedside. Something did seem different about her though, so he made it so that he was between her and her sword. "It's common for people to have a nightmare after what happened to you. Want to talk about it?"

Adamaris was engulfed by the fire, and managed to pull herself awake. "No... Just know, Incendia is going to escape any day now," she pants, her chest was heaving with fright, she was dizzy with a headache. "How soon until the psychology buddy can arrive?.. I think I need it," Adamaris slowly blinked, trying to take in her surroundings. She was more fearful for others than herself, Incendia, or Adamaris' body, needed to be eliminated.

"He's not coming, I contacted him for information," Gabriel corrected. He wouldn't force his friend to come out all this way just to look at one patient. Gabe just gave the man Adamaris's symptoms and he in return suggested a medicine to help her. "Just a second," he said hearing the phone ring.

Almost as quickly he left he was back, this time with a perscription and a cup of water. His friend finally called him back and now he knew the best choice of medicines to give Adamaris. "Here," he said handing her a cup and a pill. "It should re-enforce the barrier set up in your mind, but to fully get rid of 'Incendia,' you'll need to talk with me once you calm down. Maybe in a week or so."

"Thank you, Gabriel," Adamaris says, delivering Gabriel one of her rare smiles. Adamaris took the pill, along with a sip of water, and placed the rest of the water on the desk nearby. She nodded. "Should we set up an appointment now?" she asks; trying not be bothersome. In her mind, she felt of her self rather as a hindrance, something like a messy animal that needed to be scolded; and just went out of her way to cause trouble for others.

"Now or whenever," he shrugged as he turned around to hide his slightly embarrised face. He was used to getting thank yous from patients, but this one felt different in a way. Then again, he hadn't gotten a real 'thank you' in a while though. It was sort of odd, to put it. "You might want to check your calender or something like that," he suggested. "Otherwise you could have a mix-up in your schedual."

Adamaris laughs slightly. "It's clear- I only run my store, and don't really have anyone to talk to," Adamaris lets out a sigh, Incendia had been temporarily shut down, but for how long? Adamaris was beginning to fill the needle, and the codeine stopped making her tired altogether, it was strange, she was sure the bag had been full. Hm... Adamaris slips the needle out of her arm, and places a cap on it, and stands up, rather groggily. "Thank you, Gabriel," Adamaris says, returning the hug she received from him earlier.

Once Gabe gathered his cool, or what was left of it, he turned around and noticed Adamaris getting out of the bed. Her strength had now returned and she was showing obvious signs of improvement. The next thing he knew her arms were wraped around him for a brief moment and he could feel his blood pressure go up a bit. Her behavor confused him. Getting hugs wasn't a normal thing in his life, it felt almost alien to him. "No problem," he replied. "It's my job."

Adamaris let go and smiled again. "Thank you again, Gabriel, thank you for helping me get this thing out of my head," Adamaris turned to leave, she picked up her sword and adjusted it on her back. She started for the door, and turned back to wave, and vanished, to go back to her store no one ever came too. She laughed slightly, twas pitiful, she had no real friends. Although, she thought she might of just made one today.
