Beliefs? Amy and Levant (RESERVED)

Levant always have doubts in his mind..
one of them includes the existence of what they call "Harvest Goddess" ...
As he walked around the area, he began to roam around and thought about it.
Countless words run throughout his mind as if there were two persons debating..

"Goddess? Is there really such a thing?"

When Levant was a child, he always believe that no person could possess magical powers.. that all people have zero magical powers and only rely on brute strength and intelligence.

That was also what he believed..

A young girl sat on her knees by the pond seemingly deep in prayer when she heard footsteps. She lifted her head and look to catch sight of the boy and for a bit she just stared at him.
"can i help you?" she finally said awkwardly.

"..."

He didn't responded.
Levant was always shy with talking to strangers. He pretended he never heard what the girl said and walked slightly away where he couldn't hear her talking.

After moving away to perfect spot.. he sat down a log and started thinking to where his mind has left.

"Goddess..Goddess... I wouldn't in a thing. I need a living proof first."

Levant continued muttering.

Amy chuckled slightly
"finally not a chatty person that has wandered into my domain," she smiled slightly and returned to her praying wich was interuppted by his mumbling.
"I beleive she is real....."

"Oh really?"

It seems Levant heard what the girl has said.

Who is this girl anyway? Levant wondered. Why on earth is she praying for someone who probably is made out of other people's crazy wacky ideas.

Than afterwards, he stared at the pond. He saw his reflection. The reflection of a man who believes nothing more than himself.

Amy continued to stare at him curiously. This man was different from others that she met, the swine of civilazation that calls itself human, give any one of them a moonshine and they turn into animals, but this one....he was different some how.

"What do you want with this place anyways?" she asked only afterwards realizing how rude she'd been.

"Me? I'm investigating..you see"

Yup, from the looks of it. Levant Sigrid Armaclite was investigating if Harvest Goddess does exist..
More than a soldier and musician, Levant was a curious lad. He kept asking why and why not.
He was that curious.

Levant seems to be shy talking to the girl. The girl seems to be praying though.

"I hate to be rude..but, who are you praying for?"

The girl sighed and stood up walking closer taking in his full form.
"myself, there's noone else to pray for.......and i need her to have mercy on my tortured soul...." she whispered quietly before looking at him her eyes glistening with unshed tears.
"you should try it too sometimes, it's the perfect remedy for a lost or broken heart," she said trying to force a smile at him.

Levant took time to analyze what the girl said.
He wasn't the type of man to be moved by sincere,deep words.

"A Prayer? ..that powerful?"

He hated to admit it but during his childhood days..praying saved him in a lot of ways.
He wonders why he had forgotten to have faith..

Levant remained speechless..

"...what's your name?"

Changing the topic could help him forget the topic..perhaps.

The girl gave him a wide doe eyed look as if the question was foreign.
"my......name?" She asked barely above a whisper. People rarly stuck around this long, they usualy ran away from her hostility towards them so either this person was stubborn....or just plain dense. A smile twinged at her mouth, a true one.
"It's Amy, Amy Sanchez,"

"Levant Sigrid Armaclite's the name."

Levant somewhat admired the way the girl smiled. It was gentle, innocent..that's what he call a smile.
A smile that does not mask any negative emotion but emits only the positive aura.

"Why do you believe in the Harvest Goddess?"

He said frankly with a voice of a prosecutor.

It feel like he is a police trying to find testimonies.

because it's the only explanation i have for still being alive..." she whispered looking at the ground seemingly lost in memories.
"if it weren't for her, i would've died years ago when i was still quite small," she explained in a low whisper tracing images in the dirt.

Even though, It may seem Levant is cold. He still has heart.
He could fell the emotion on the words that the Amy said.

"Though I hate to admit it, My parents said when I was young, that my life was possible because of the Goddess,
Even though, sometimes, I just hate that kind of life"

Levant said while staring at the blue pond watching his own reflection.

"..what could be my life without the Goddess?"

Amy sighed and shook her head as she took his hand.
"you wouldn't exist..." she whgispered smiling at him. He seemed to have secrets in his past, but so did she
"no right to complain then..." she decided with a mental shrug.

Levant wasn't the religious type of guy.
He couldn't say something about that. He kept silent and just whispered...

"Goddess..if you do exist..answer me."

He continued whispering in a very low monotonic voice.

"Why does this life suck?"

He slowly closed his eyes and felt the wind's breeze.

the girl watched him quietly.
To her he was very handsome in a way, a thought that caused her to blush.
But he seemed to be troubled for reasons unknown which intrigued her greatly.

Now, Levant is getting too embarrassed. it seems the girl is listening and staring at him.
But, He was used to see girls staring at him. Back at the military school, no matter how tomboy girls are in the vicinity, their feminine side shows up when Levant is around.

But.. her eyes was staring at him in a different way.

However, to cover up such topic. he continued to close back his eyes.

The girl turned her attention back to the pond dipping her hand in the water silently.
"If you ever want to talk about this subject more, you can find me here, the bar, or at the library...." she whispered quietly, not an invitation per say, but a verbal reaching out to help what seemed to be another lost soul.

"Hmmm.."

"I guess..sometimes It wouldn't hurt to talk to you... Amy"

he started walking away from the pond.
He knew that conversation wasn't enough to change his beliefs.

"..Someday, I'll get to know the reason"

He stopped walking away and wave his hand symbolizing farewell to a newly met person.

"May our paths cross again.."

and left silently. It was rude but Levant really left.

Amy smiled and resmumed her meditation and prayer.
"he's different...." she smiled to herself as though she had a little secret.
"We'll meet again boy..."
