Chasing Stars [Reserved Topic- Savannah and Red]

A salty Sea musk in a cool breeze, and the dim glow of the sun painting the waves orange as it escaped below the Horizon. Waves pushed a lace of foam upon the tips of Red's shoes every time they crawled up, and fled back down.

The Beach had an entirely different effect at sunset, it was almost chilling.
Hood hung over her head and basket heavy with apples in her hands, Red stood, watching and waiting for the lights of the skies to dance, waiting for the first Star of the night.

They said it was lucky, that you could make a wish upon the first star of the night.
Red didn't much believe in wishes anymore, but the first star, at least, was always beautiful.

Her feet shuffled within the grass, trying to make their way to the beach--why? Well, she had heard stores that on a cool summer's evening that the sunset would be most beautiful to watch from the warm sands of the beach. Well, tonight was a cooling summer's eve. Savannah brushed the pieces of red hair from her face as she mainly looked up into the sky, not really watching in front of herself. Her eyes also on the look out for that first star as well.

She had been told of it's magic, and of course, Savannah just had to try it, and this couldn't have been a better choice of a night. The magic of granting a wish--geez, what a dreamer she was. She lowered her eyes for a moment to spot another person on the beach, as she had apparently made it and just never felt the sand on her feet. So she wasn't the only one who had the same idea. "Evening!" She called out, a friendly smile on her expression, "Nice night, isn't it?"

Upon hearing a happy greeting, Red took her gaze from the stars, looking around for a moment. Apparently, she wasn't the only one who had come to watch the stars flicker into view.

Smiling, she waved.
"Hi!" She called back, "It certainly is."
Switching her gaze to the stars, and then back to the girl, she decided it might be worthwhile to go over and meet her. A new friend could double as the first star of the night, without .

Red walked over with a grin.
"And what might your name be?" She asked, twiddling her thumbs behind her back.

Savannah quietly waited for a response back as the figure in front of herself glanced around, finally setting on herself. She smiled as the woman answered back, she nodded in agreement. Then she asked a question, wanting to know her name, "Oh, my name is Savannah, but people usually call me Savvy." She introduced herself, motioning to herself with her hand, "May I ask your name?"

Red briefly tossed the name around in her mind for a moment, memorizing it as she repeated it over and over again.
"Nice to meet you, Savvy." She nodded, smiling.

"My name's Red." She explained, quickly sweeping her fringe out of her eyes, which, she quickly realized were obscured by her Hood.
I probably look like some stalker, She thought, ducking her head and lifting the hood from her head, letting it fall back to her shoulders.
Smiling, she held out her hand for Savannah to shake.

Savannah grinned as the other woman spoke, it almost felt refreshing to be able to meet someone new, "It's nice to meet you as well, Red." She spoke out. Strangely enough, Red looked vaguely familiar, like she had heard of her from somewhere. 'Oh well.' She thought, pushing it from her mind as Red pushed back her hood. Then Red put out her hand, as if waiting for a handshake, which the red head quickly delivered to her with her own hand.

Red grinned as she shook hands with the girl, before returning her gaze quickly to the sun. It was almost gone, only the very top of the glowing light dared peek over the horizon.

And with it's retreat, a dim, small but oh-so meaningful light flickered shyly into the sky.
"Look..." She whispered, feeling a little childish, but still happy.
Wish or no wish, it was still quite a pretty thing, watching it glow in it's lonely space.

Savannah let go of the girl's hand and looked over over the horizon like she had and watched as the sun finally laid its self to rest beneath the sea, she smiled weakly. Hearing Red light whisper, Savvy did as told and looked up. A tiny gasp escaped her lips as they both spotted the first star of the night. "Quick, make a wish." She told her. She felt so young, childish if anything as she quickly closed her eyes, quickly thinking of a wish to make.

Red briefly closed her eyes, her mid swirling as she searched for a wish.
Quickly, she picked one and held it deep in her heart, no matter how childish she felt.

Just a small, little wish for a small, little star.
As she opened her eyes, she watched the other stars slowly flicker to life upon the skies like a pox of light in the dark.
She felt a little childish, but she supposed it didn't matter.
"Made a wish?" She asked, as the stars glimmered, suspended in the skies.

As fast as she could, Savannah finally picked a wish from the back of her mind that she had held close to herself. She kept repeating it in her mind as fast as she could with her eyes tightly shut. Once finished, or at least deeming it enough, she quietly opened her eyes to see the sky welcoming a few more stars with them. She chuckled at the girl's question, "Yeah, did you?" She answered with a weak smile.

Red nodded, smiling.
Even though it was just a star, thousands and thousands of miles away, it still left a warm imprint in her heart. She felt silly, but it didn't matter.

The sun had, by now, escaped below the horizon, off to bring dawn to some far off land; lamps and streetlights bathing Forget-Me-Not-Valley in the dim glow of twilight.
"What a pretty night." Red mused, grinning while the waves whispered behind them.

It was nice to look up at the sky every once and a while, especially when the stars were out... She could barely see them when she was in the city, it was nice to be out there in the countryside where there really was no trace of pollution and the like. No sounds of cars honking, no lights to block out the pretty shine of the stars above after the sun had drifted below the Earth.

Simple little lamp posts turned on in the distance, but Savvy paid no mind to them, only keeping her eyes on the stars, "It really is, isn't it?" She chuckled, "Nothing like the city, eh?"

Red giggled, nodding in the silence. The lights of the streets were no match for the seasoning of stars sprinkled throughout the black of the sky, shining suspended in the air.

It was all a big dance, the waves stirring about below a waltzing sky, leaves and branches waving in the sea breeze.
"Do you think your wish will be granted?" She asked coyly, feeling like a child again.

Savannah let out a soft chuckle as she merely glanced over to Red nodding to her question--it was really nothing like the city. But she couldn't help but glance over to Red once more as she was questioned, thinking for a moment before speaking her mind with a tiny shrug. "I don't know, I hope so." She chuckled softly with a tiny childish smile, "What about you? Do you think yours will be granted?" Her voice softened just a tiny bit.

Red shrugged, doubting her wish's validity.
"I don't know, probably not." She sighed. But deep down, somewhere, she secretly hoped it would. She'd hadn't much believed in wishes lately, but there was always a chance to turn around.

"We're just big children, aren't we?" She admitted, laughing.
There had been enough child-like delight in the two to fool anyone into thinking they were overgrown ten year olds.
Not that that was a bad thing.

Savannah quickly nodded with a tiny smile as her eyes gazed back up at the darkening sky with the stars flickering here and there. "You shouldn't be doubtful. You never know, really." She spoke up, not taking her eyes from the sky above. She let out a laugh, sticking her hands inside of her jean pockets, "Yeah, we really are, aren't we?" She responded, "But it's fun."
