Thieves of Old England (IC)

Lyn turned her head in surprise as the woman grabbed her arm. The expression quickly melted her face though as her emotionless expression came back. "A bargain?" Lyn said looking at the ground, her hair covered her face. "Who are you?" She asked in a whisper. Lyn was mentally bewildered. She actually got caught. No wonder that person had a suspicious aura... Lyn closed her eyes then reopened them looking at the woman straight in the eye.

Sophie looked at the girl, then the officer looking person. her tone became more bubbly. "oh sis!" "there you are!" she said grabbing the girl and pulling her away. "i am so sorry miss, my sister is always getting into trouble." "i swear, she's completely delusional." "she forgot to take her pills this morning too." "you have my apologies." sophie started to push the girl forward away from the dectective. "i promise it'll never happen again!" "common sis, can;t wait for father to hear about this one!"

"Not so fast," she remarked pulling Lyn back. "I assume you don't want to go to jail as well. You know what happens to pretty girls like you, right?"

"Let's say I'm a friend of Greg Steel," she whispered. "Have you heard of him before? I want to repay him for somehthing he did to me."

It was obvious that this Detective had a cold twisted heart. Just by looking at her smile you could see it. It was equal to the smile of a evil murderer after he had claimed his victim. She had not let go of her heart breaking and vowed to get this guy back.

Sophie got angry. "excuse me." she said in a more stern tone. "i'll have you know my father is a very important person." "he expects my sister an i home before dinner." "otherwise he'll get angry and you're the only one the blame." "i'll pay for whatever she stole." sophie grabbed the girl's arm and dragged her away. never looking back.

Detective Lee ran infront of the girl and slaped her across her face.
"It doesn't matter about your family's status when it comes to the law little girl, you are getting on my nerves." She spat at Sophie's feet one of the most insulting things to do.

"Don't mess with the law," she starred into Sophie's eyes giving her one of the most cold glares ever possible. It was clear that she wouldn't let Sophie mess with her chances like that one girl from earlier.

Adam gave her a little bow, and tried reading the note. It was handwritten fancily, and some words were out of his reach. Curse his education. Sabertooth took control and the blonde girl left them, going around the base after showing him the note. No wonder someone could waltz in, but he is angry at the security. He puts his hands over his chest and gave Sabertooth a polite bow, to signal an apology. Of course he can't do much, not without a voice. He would have been promoted from a mere pit pocket if he had the voice to lead, but he did not have one. He smiled to show that all is well. He took back his knife and put it away.

sophie felt a sinking feeling the pit of her stomic. this wasn't working out the ways she wanted it too. she stepped in front of the girl. then, her governess came running up. "oh Sophie! there you are!" she said heaving. her turned the the detective. "i'm terribly sorry if she's caused any trouble." "we must get home now, or her father will be angry." "come, milady.' her governess said. Sophie glared at the woman. "yes, governess." she said. when no one was looking, sophie tossed a bag of money to the woman. a bail out for the girl. she hopped it would be enough, it was all she had on her. then, she turned and walked away with her governess.

Detective Lee shook her head. That girl was an unusual one. If she was listening she would of hear the options she gave the girl. She returned her concentration to Lyn.

"I bet you want to help me even more now," she said sly. "Afterall, you'd get free money. Just help me find a guy called Greg Steel. Then freedom is yours and I'll put a good word for you at the station."

The smile returned to her face. It was nearly immposible for a theif to refuse a deal like this.

Suddenly ciera realized why the boy wouldn't speak, it wasn't just cause she was unwelcome here, he HAD no voice. Ciera looked at him sympathetically. she was lucky she was born with an excellent singing voice. she hadn't even thought of the possibility that he had no voice. She remembered when she was little she had been teased cause her voice hadn't been that good, but when it improved she was the most wanted girl by all the boys in town. Ciera went over and sat next to him smiling. "i'm ciera by the way." She said politley.

Lyn blinked as she tried to take it all in. She looked at the lady who threw that woman a bag of money and mouthed thank you, but suddenly the name Greg Steel popped up. Her eyes widened and bit her lip. Looking at the detective she smirked smirked and crossed her arms looking away. "Ah, you most be one of the many he stole. Taking a good look at you," She said getting closer to the detective. "You must be that Rae." Lyn eyed the bag of money.

when sophie got home, she ate dinner, took a shower, and turned in. SHe couldn't wait for nightfall. no, she couldln't wait till then. she had to go out now. her tied her hair up into a ponytail and got into a dress that was easy to move in. she went out onto her balcony and climbed down. this wasn't the first time she snuck out. she didn'tr know where she was going this time. somewhere, she guessed. she put on her cloak and headed out. it was almost dusk, the perfect cover.

Ciera turned her attention from the boy to a girl who just slipped in the window. she was SO dead now, if that girl told her parents all her life would be ruined. She gave the girl a glare. She was angry that she was here too, she didn't want anybody here to be turned in. she was doing this for jacks memory, for what jack would want, she couldn't turn them all in. "what're you doing here?" ciera asked.

sophie jumped from place to place, landing skillfully everytime. until one fall, she landed and her hood feel off, reviling her shockingly pretty face. she quickly put it back up, in hopes no one would see. but little did she know..she was being followed by someone. she was heade to the usual spot she went when she wanted to get things off her mind.

"my late boyfriend jack was a theif here, today's my first day here." Ciera said sharply. she felt relief swarm her body but she didn't trust her, she could turn the girl in but thought better of it. she resumed her usual position next to the boy.

If her mother knew what she was doing, she would murder her.


The thought bemused Ethie as she slunk beneath the shadows, cloak pulled tightly around her face. Her gloves, tattered and torn, clutched a small satchel beneath the folds of fabric that wrapped her body. Imagine, Her Majesty's daughter, trekking through the forest like an animal. She tried not to giggle out loud, but the liberation from her stifling life made Ethie want to skip.

Of course, that would be silly. As shown by the two-sizes-two-big cloak hiding her face and body, and the fact that she was traveling alone at night, without an escort, Ethie made it clear to any unseen observers that she did not want to call attention to herself.

Sophie finally made it to her destination. a beautiful meadow with a pond. and flowers that only bloomed at night. no one else knew about this place but her. she was about to enter the passage ways when someone grabbed her shoulder and threw her agesnt the wall. she gasped in pain, then she looked up to see a bunch of thugs above her. three of them, and they were huge.

Detective Lee froze right there. Her name was like a curse to her whenever said by a thief. It was as if a voodoo doll was given to Lyn. A shocked look consumed Detective Lee's face and her hands dropped to her sides giving Lyn the most opprotune moment to get away.

It may seem weird that the simple name 'Rae' could have this effect on such a strong independent women. The truth was that she had fallen in love with Greg Steel and opened her heart to him, only to let him smash it into tiny pieces. Rae wasn't her full name too, it was really Rachelle, but all her friends called her Rae to shorten it up a bit. Greg was one of those friends and it only confirmed that all she was in his life was just a tissue he used up.

Lyn studied Rae's movements as her hands left Lyn's arms and noticed how frozen up she was when she said her name. "Oh, Ms. Rae is all frozen up. Thats some juicy info there for the other thieves." Lyn gave a sadistic smile. "Rae, Rae, Rae, Rae, Rae" Lyn mocked. "I'll be sure to visit you a lot. Since you were Greg's favorite. Scratch that, favorite because all the girl's were his favorite. Seduce them then break their hearts." Lyn took the money bag and shook it. "Nice bargain huh?" Lyn gave a cheerful smile.

Why does this always happen to me? sophie thought unhappily. then, the leader spoke. "hey there doll face." he said in a voice like velvet. "we hear you're the daughter of a nobleman." "so you can hook us up with some money, yes?" another one said smugly. sophie made no move, but if she had, she would have rolled her eyes. this was too typical. but she was to afraid to say or do anything.

Rose prowled through an alleyway behind a rather luxurious house. It was her night-time caper that she had planned earlier when she followed a Lady and her Governess around. She had gathered the name of the Lady, Sophie, and decided it might come in handy for future ransom notes.

After making sure the coast was clear, she snuck out the front of the house, fetched a lock pick from her pocket and slipped it into the lock. It took a minute, and alot of concentration. It was certainly a hard lock.

A click sounded, and she was able to open the door. Rose quietly stepped in, and immediately got to work with a cupboard of finery.

sophie didn't wait for anything. she just got up ran as fast as she could and snuck back up into her room. and when she climbed in, she ran right into somebody."ah!" she gaasped as she feel backwords. 'ouch!" "what the-" she looked up and gapsed when she saw somone she didn't know in her room.

Rose quickly scooped several valuables out of the first cupboard, and gently set them in a burlap sack, originally used as a potatoe sack.
She moved over to the next desk, intending to releive that of it's valuables as well, when suddenly...

Thump.

She found herself facing the Lady she had followed earlier that day. She took a moment to gather the situation, then simply used all her strength to push the Lady down, hoping that the cumbersome corsets and layers might stall her a moment before getting up.

sophie gapsed. she stood up imeditly and grabbed a bell from her table. "this beel is very, veyr loud." "if i ring it, people will be here faster than you get get out." sophie backed up and closed and locked the entrance to the belcoy. "i won't ring it of you don't make any sudden moves, i juat want to talk."

Rose hesitated for a moment, thinking through the pros and cons of obedience.
If she stayed still, she'd be buying more time, although there was a chance that the girl had already called for help and was stalling her now.
But then again, if she moved, she'd call anyway.

She decided to stay still, narrowing her eyes in a hostile glare at the Lady.
"I'm listening." She answered, lowering her voice to her infamous dry, threatening tone again.

sophie was happy the girl agreed. sophie smiled. "i don't care what you take, my family can recover eaily from it." "i'll let you go on three conditions." sophie said.. "one: you give me back my mother's neckless, it's really important to me." "two: you never rob from here again, and three, you take me to your hideout." she looked at the girl honestly. "you can keep the rest of that, i won't tell my father." "and i won't tell them about your hideout, wither." "i'll even bring you guys food, i'm a pretty good cook." sopihe was practicably begging now. "i'm not like most other girls. i'm happy with what i have, but it doesn't seem fair to people like you." "i'll even smuggle some things out of our house we don't use." "you can sell them.' "plus, i want more out of life then just this."
